My divorce clients frequently report shame among the many feelings they grapple with during divorce. As we know, break-ups are difficult. When coupled with a legal process that has been socially and religiously stigmatized, not only do my clients tend to isolate, shame appears to hinder their healthful process through grief and forward to growth. I'm hoping to learn more about shame and how to intervene to minimize the impact of shame in hindering their healing journeys and positive self-identification.
