A former ECE specialist, I became passionate about family systems work when I found that parents, particularly those of children who present with neurobehavioral disorders, lack a regular self-care practice. My ultimate goal is to educate carers and inspire them to actively tend to their physical and emotional needs the way they tend to those of their Littles. It is my belief that by implementing family-wide holistic practices (mindfulness, energy work, functional nutrition, etc.) each member of the family system will find a significant improvement in overall wellness, as well as their connections to one another. Lastly, I aim to create a shift in belief systems that minimize or stigmatize self-care and self-compassion so that carers, particularly mothers, can find serenity in the acknowledgment that they are humans first. After all, it is only by granting oneself permission to be imperfect, are we able to let go of the near-impossible expectations that have been imposed upon us.
