Very insightful. Thank you for sharing this wisdom and perspective.
I think this indigenous wisdom is penetrating the mainstream at this time. There is talk about intergenerational trauma and resilience of the ancestors. I uncovered so much trauma with my ancestry.com family tree. The previous generations seem so much more present now. I personally have met relatives 3 generations before mine, and 3 generations after me, so I am literally in-person connected to 7 generations!
However, even with the Sixth Mass Extinction looming, I see people understanding the interdependence of life on Earth as an intellectual idea, yet still not looking up from their screens to hear the birds. The Jewish and Christian liturgical calendars are based on the Pagan calendar, and the holy days of the seasons and the agricultural cycle are celebrated, but are no longer recognized as celebrations of our connection to our Earth.
I have prayed at bedtime for help with problems, and have received dreams that clarified what was going on/what I really felt. Ah, the wisdom of the mind! This talk has encouraged me in my embrace of indigenous values, and I thank you.
Interesting. Tibetan Buddhism has incorporated shamanistic practices from the Bon religion, including burning offerings to calm the ancient spirits of the local place, and lucid dreaming practice, called Dream Yoga. However, I don’t know whether the Tibetans make offerings to their ancestors like other East Asian cultures. The Tibetan lamas also say that we should treat all beings/animals/humans as relatives, in fact, as our mothers since beginningless time.
Dear Dr Duran,
I really enjoyed your talk with Dr g about psychology wisdom within therapist and the principle of ancestors healing to heal the wounds of the souls. And I really appreciate that you named the ancestors wisdom of Judaism, what is mostly skipped out of any important social aspects in life and that you honored what the ancestors did for us, we always try to follow their steps within our own path to peace and freedom. Today is the international remembrance day of the Holocaust and to watch your talk is very a gift to me, because you create context for people they are very in focus to bring healing to the souls within all dimensions of history. May you be blessed from the Almighty One for ever in eternity.
Sincerely,
Silvana
Very grateful for these amazing souls ❤️
Heartfelt thanks , Dr. Eduardo Duran and Dr. Claudelle Glasgow!
May the good Lord continue to bless you and the work you do.
I would like a transcript of this presentation
it was an honor to be in deep sacred conversation and for all of you who shared your experience, resonance, and aspirations forward. Asé
Dr Duran was a joy to see last year at this conference. A great pleasure to meet Dr g. I was deeply touched by your interaction and I felt included.
I ways love listening to Eduardo Duran. I never understood why some Therapists wanted me to say goodbye to my dead grandmother. One attempted to get me to say goodbye but I stopped the whole thing and said ‘I don’t want to say goodbye. I want to continue relating to my grandmother’. You are the first one to make me feel that I am right in continuing to relate to a dead person. I feel so happy. Thank you so much Eduardo.
The cloud never dies, as Thich Nhat Han said. There is no birth or death only continuation.
This was the most inspiring talk on therapy of the soul.
I found your presentation compelling because you Dr g and Dr Duran talked with each other. There was a vitality that goes straight to the heart. The connectedness you spoke of was apparent. Thank you.
This was one of my favorite sessions! The flow between Dr. G and Dr. Duran was a beautiful model of attunement and curiosity and authentic sharing. I have taken away so much, and I cannot wait to journal and do more reflecting on this teaching. Thank you so much! Also, the idea of having ancestors who have never forgotten who you are and who are there knowing is so so comforting for all who may feel lost in this world. Thank you!
I had tears and laughter through this conversation. All the unconnected dots began to connect. Filled with gratitude 🙂
An amazing heartfelt experience, such deep wisdom!
Good day My Relatives from the six directions. I truly appreciate all of your words that have deeply touched my heart. I honor all of what you are doing to heal the world’s soul, which is our soul. Blessings as you continue on the medicine path. Eduardo
So rich
This is the most eye opening and resonating contribution of the entire summit. I deeply and humbly thank you Dr. Eduardo and Dr. G.
Thank you for broading my attention on this subject and bringing up so many questions, I will be dealing with for a long time. There is no healing possible if we just see one person in front and a limiting diagnosis. Let#s never forget this.
Thank you so much for this inspiring session. I was deeply touched by the honoring integration of indigenous wisdom into our healing processes.
Thank you Eduardo Duran and Dr. g for sharing your wisdom in a sacred space.
Greetings from the hilly, green land called Switzerland
Beautiful sharing! with 14 generations, it really sounds like existence is less lonely than my western individualistic, independence obsessed upbringing offers me! Thank you so much!
Beautiful. A whole different, and expansive, dimension on healing. Thank you Dr. Duran.
So beautiful! Thank you so much, I am so moved and elevated
I feel so blessed that Dr. Alberto Duran was a part of this summit, raising us to greater awareness of the soul level of healing needed for all peoples and how to bring the ancestors and great mystery to the work we have before us. He was one of the reasons I wanted to be a part of this summoit.
Extremely eye opening. Thank you.
Gracias por su sabiduría…
You both are 2 of my favorite presenters/ educators to listen to. Thank you for this important conversation 💗
WOW! GRACIAS A LOS 2

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity of spirit. Wishing both of you many blessings.
Mitakuye oyasin!
‘If life is ceremony, we’re already in paradise’. I loved that. And how the earth is in you, not you we *on* the earth.
How we are all connected. In the centre of 14 generations, 7 back, 7 forward. Such responsibility but also : how hopeful.
Thank you so much for this.
Please allow me to greet you in the dialect I grew up with : moi
( not the French ‘me’ ,but )
the Gronings ( the north of the Netherlands) moi which means
‘tomorrow/ this morning’.
Up until now I did not realise that our simple ‘moi’ has hope and presence in it as well.
Thank you both so much to placing me on a path back home.
“The Dream connects us all to the Source” indeed! Maybe it’s about time to wake up from the materialistic nightmare and start Dreaming the true spiritual Self in an infinite (clockwise and counterclockwise) world? For the sceptics, Quantum Physics could prove such and other far out concepts and doings -but we have to work out the details, of course! We do create reality with our constructs and even the Spirit World is no that far fetched idea -better than living in the TV and commercial made-up worlds!
Dreaming as Healing then but who is doing the healing to who in the dream-world -since the fine tuning also needs fine tuner? If annihilation of the Ego is part of the process who is going to be there to collect the pieces and put them back to create the new (actually old) Self in a more holistic form? If “the Dream moves to our space” who is responsible for the outcome when one is out of the natural context? Can we integrate such practices within urban and superficial/virtual environments? The “really going inward, and knowing who you are, and finding out who you are, and being real to that, genuineness, the whole genuineness” implies and even requires the proper environmental context.
Love his teasing joke about the Soul searching, it is so true and I think only Soul-less and shallow people could get offended -by that truth!
Most importantly he mentions the identity issue-crisis that is often absent and dismissed in Western Societies. We are sentient beings and lack of Identity (ok as much as genuine it could get) is the source of psychopathology and more problems elsewhere (the diagnostic process, environmental destruction etc.)
These are the serious issues, the real afflictions of our time and our “civilization” along with the “objectification” of the human beings that lead to separation (from self, others, and nature). Great point about the use of language in the construction of reality and Identity!
I found very interesting the point he made about “transference” as being intergenerational! I never thought about that possibility, and again QM could “prove” certain things/events.
“Wisdom hiding in plain sight” indeed!
We do need more OIT, indeedy!
Thank you sir and Dr. G!
“May the sacred be restored in beauty”-“Mitakuye Oyacin”
Love the question of “Who am I?”. As I continue to journey into myself with my ancestors, with my dreams, what do I bring forth – how does this meet those with whom I work and their ancestors. Thank you Dr. g and Dr. Duran.
An amazing, almost cosmic, approach to healing. It was so refreshing to listen to such an experienced medical practitioner including, as equally important, influences eg. ancestry (roots)
interconnectedness with all that is eg. the earth; spiritual teaching and timeless experience of it; dreams.
Thank you so much on this Saturday morning.
Thank you for sharing all this wisdom, dr Duran. It made me reconnect with hidden but innate treasures. Years ago I had the honour to spend time with Ralph Redfox (Cheyenne) as I was writing my thesis on healing and religion. It was a precious time that I still carry in my heart. Thank you for opening up to all this once again. Blessings from Belgium.
What a beautiful talk, thank you so much for it. I deeply appreciated every minute. I was watching it from Moscow, Russia, and your words resonated with me deeply. The unhealed trauma that generations of my ancestors went through resulted in this ugly war that my people have now started. I feel as if I, together with people around me, am trapped in this vortex of collective trauma repeating itself through us. We need this kind of teachings to heal from the past and to heal with the past, and with the present
Thank you for this Elena.
Much love from the Netherlands.
Thank you Margriet! Peace and love from Moscow.
Elena blessings on this day for your thoughts and courage. Interesting that last year I had a dream in which I was telling Putin that he needed to read Dostoyevsky (my favorite writer of all time). Last night I dreamt that I was in line with Putin to order some food from a hamburger place; a very humble family food place. He was in front of me and he did not have enough money to buy a burger. I told him I would pay for his food. We sat opposite to each other and I noticed that my burger was missing. They brought it to me with a bite taken from it. I asked who bit my burger…they said it was a hungry child. I told the waiter to return the burger to the child.
I believe Putin needs is a hungry child that has become a hungry ghost. As you know the hungry ghost realm is where there are being with huge stomachs and tiny mouths…they can never stop craving and wanting more. Probably started when he was a hungry child; inheriting the trauma of his mother being piled up with dead bodies and surviving…imagine how emotional nourishing was impossible. Anyway, sorry to bother you with all this obvious stuff and no need to respond as I know that can be dangerous for you. Blessings and if you are ever close to Dostoyevsky’s burial place let him know I said hello.
Eduardo, thank you for your comment! Dostoevsky’s burial place is in Saint Petersburg, I will be heading there this summer and I will pass your greetings to him.
Thank you for sharing your dream. I found it interesting that you described Putin through hunger, it made me think of the dream I had (or rather a dream had me :)) ) a month ago (seems like it’s been ages!) where a hungry crowd lynched a man who a minute before it happened was bragging about the power that he has, and that people, whenever they need a favor, always come to him (sort of like to a mafia godfather) and they come to him first (and he didn’t lie, the crowd did come to him first). In my sadness and confusion the dream made me hopeful that the people will be able to take the power away from the criminal, but your comment made me think that hungry crowds make hungry rulers, unless they learn the power of compassion somewhere on the way.
Just a day before the war started I had a dream where I was trying to get to a man who was abusing children in his apartment. At the end of the dream it became clear that he kidnapped a lot of children through the years, beginning at the end of the 90s. He inculcated them a different flow of time, and they almost haven’t grown up. He punished them severely and always insisted that he would treat them himself. There was a lot going on, but looking back at it I can’t help from thinking that as a nation we are the children – being locked up with a madman, letting him mistreat us, and also relying on him to teach us about the cruel world outside, and in a very childish way refusing to see and acknowledge our collective role in creating this empire of violence.
Forgive me for bringing so much politics and negativity to this wonderful comment section… I’m just exited to share this intense experience with the outside world. The crisis is deep, but so are the learning opportunities, so I am staying positive.
Also, thank you for worrying about my safety, I believe it should be fine (if there is however a KGB agent reading this comment I highly recommend them watching the session).
Thanks again Eduardo, blessings to you and your family, I’m very much looking forward to reading your book “Healing the soul wound” as soon as I get the chance (the sanctions on russian banks don’t let me purchase it right now)
Elena. If you send your email i can attach some papers i wrote on soul wounding.
Eduardo, wow, thank you so much!! It means the world to me🙏
My email is helenzakk@gmail.com
Fascinating wisdom – I resonate to the connection we have and to give offerings to receive directions – much to learn in sacredness, thank you to the instruments here.
Thank you very much for opening a door into a space, about which my soul knew it exists, but my western medicine education was blocking me somehow the access to it. I am deeply touched and I want to learn more. Greetings from Czech Republic.
This was a profound discussion to witness. I feel like so much about Indigenous culture, and every humans innate indigenousness, creates connection and relationship between everyone and everything. I am inspired to know better who I am.
I also loved that part about how at one point we were all indigenous. Grateful for perspective.
This was so inspiring – I love the idea of asking – what are you trying to teach me instead of the usual focusing on getting rid of things. A Master Teaching from a Wise Master. Thank you so much.
Thank you Dr. Duran. Your talk is so refreshing- to bring the holistic point into our multidimensional selves and we are part and parcel of every atom. I have always known and found western psychology to be very limited and linear. It is deficient in who we are on soul level. Plus western psychology and neuroscience has yet to fully understand how the brain works or what is consciousness. I have always integrated eastern practices, rituals, traditions in my healing.
I feel great calm resonance with your message Dr. Duran, thank you. Your remarks are staying with me, about our language, and re-aiming ourselves toward ‘who’ our fellow beings are in this world. Also, on finding the sacredness in beauty.
I wonder what you might say to someone who has had a lot of family abuse, and feels they are without any known relations who truly wish their own thriving. Is there always a benevolent spirit somewhere in our lineage, even if we don’t know them?
In connecting with and honoring our ancestors, would your wisdom say that is it our duty to live out their wishes for our life?
Again, many thanks for your beautiful and sacred work.
I am struck by the idea of your benevolent spirit in your lineage.
Thank you Dr Duran, I was fascinated and engaged during your entire video. Your humor, native healing, and the connection we all share and can access, was and is so valuable. I with share your video with my Dharma group.
Namaste,
Nancy (HooNanc)
Thank you for such a beautiful conversation. Learning from indigenous practices and teachings always feels so connecting and nurturing for me. Thank you.
