Thanks to you, Kaleigh, and all who made this summit possible. Because of my schedule, I had to miss some offerings.
I can’t afford the package at this time but wanted to hear Russell Kolts. Any chance that just that one could be repeated?
    I’d be very grateful.
    Best wishes!

I wonder why Trudy never looked at Jack when he spoke and then she was typing while he spoke….
Strange…….. Wish she had not done that.

Thank you so much for this! <3 it's so meaningful and rejuvenating to hear the language of compassion used in this way and feel connected to others and a community. I know we've always needed (and will always need) compassion but especially coming out of this past year it feels like the time to double down and I'm about it

Is it possible to just buy Dick Swartz talking about compassion and shame please? Thank you

I agree with Galina. I think it was much more than “strange” that Trudy was typing away as Jack was speaking about such tender and intimate topics – even if sending a quote to someone – that could have waited – I thought she was being highly insensitive and outright rude. It felt, and it actually was, so offensive and ugly to watch her behave in that disconnected and indifferent way. I also thought she was being hypocritical talking about “sensitivity”. I have never encountered anything like it in such a context. Maybe it would have been different had we all been sitting around in their kitchen… but this context was very public and very different. I hope she is able to understand and appreciate how she came across. Maybe she needs to see/re-visit the recording so her awareness could increase?

I agree with Sue and Galina, Trudy looked like she was looking down on her phone too. I found it all very distracting and extremely surprising. Otherwise it was a wonderful summit thank you.

I also watched this talk at least 3 times and have to respectfully disagree.
I thought that she was very clear and apologetic about the typing and there was a loving and caring rapport between them.
Please consider a more Compassionate “ take “ on what YOU observed. Is it correct to see “ Intention “ in her behavior?
Wishing you Loving , connected Presence in all your endeavors:)

    Hello,
I’m not sure if this comments section accepts links to research and other resources and so I am putting it in again without the links.
I’m Suzette Misrachi author of: “Lives unseen: unacknowledged trauma of non-disordered, competent Adult Children Of Parents with a Severe Mental Illness” and short articles I’ve been invited to write for an e-publication aimed at psychiatrists and mental health practitioners) which encompasses grief and trauma for children and adults (most recent 2 are about Trump supporters). I also wrote a resource website. The guy who asked about a client with Borderline Personality Disorder and who had a child, it may help to see my research, parts of the resource website and the article on parentification.
For those who maybe interested in these resources they just need to Google my name.
Thank you for addressing such an important topic! I learned so much…

I agree completely with Cathy and the other two commenters. Yes, unfortunately Trudie’s activity was highly distracting my concentration on Jack’s words…
Thst was the only vermouth’s drop of an awesome moving summit
      Thankyou!!!!

Thank you for this outstanding Summit. I had the opportunity to follow all the sessions. It was refreshing and inspiring. I serve as a Chaplain for the U.S. Navy and was introduced to Minfdulness while completing a MA in Mental Health Counseling. This summit was extremely helpful since I had not paid enough attention to the use of compassion in counseling thinking that this effort was not evidenced based or there was not enough support to validate it. To my surprise, your summit introduced me to a powerful practice, with a lot of therapeutic value, and with serious research behind it. I can’t wait to go deeper, learn more, and use it with my Service Members in the fleet.

Thank you for this incredible resource. Compassion has been my saving grace for the last 20 plus years. I happen to know Jack Kornfield from way back when he was offering the Monday Night meditation classes at Spirit Rock. I just recently gotten to know Trudy and I imagine she is a lovely addition to Jack’s life. Can we bring loving awareness and compassion right here, right now? No matter what the situation calls for. Can I endure my own pain, shame and grief of so much childhood trauma and neglect from my own mother.? Can I keep believing in my own wisdom as a mother of a 10 year old during these hard challenging COVID times. Can I keep opening up my heart and not close down my heart? So I rest with what Tara mentioned “ strong back, soft front” 🙏🏽

I’m saddened by the negative comments directed towards Trudy ………. Zoom brings it’s own challenges, and aren’t we are all just getting used to this new method of communication ? Could we replace our judgements with what the summit was all about ………. compassion !!
Deepest gratitude to all the speakers who shared their time and expertise so generously.

Trudy, shame on you. UR Beloved was being so cool, he clearly loves u & probably knew we weren’t happy with ur selfish behavior. He was clearly distracted & concerned for the 60 k rest of us who wanted to hear from him. Is everything always about you! Yes, I have compassion, with limits on that kind of behavior from you, ‘the queen of inventing all’. I’ll never get to know ur good offerings, cuz I’ve seen you now. If you learn from the comments, we can turn a new page. Rub his feet tonight. 💖 🕊 🌱

Sorry, Trudy, if I was too harsh. It’s my anniversary, & I am separated from my Beloved husband & baby…both war casualities. Oh, how I continue to wish I could sit with them, right here, right now. But they’re saving me a seat at the table. Wishing u the best. ✌

I thoroughly enjoyed this summit. As a health professional I have worked with compassion in mind for many years after a “wake up call” in my own life. I never saw it as clearly or as expansively as what was presented here and am very excited by what I learnt. I felt validated by what I did and taught. There is so much more we can do and so much more to learn. That this is coming into main stream practice is very exciting. I was particularly interested when Kristen Neff talked about a course she did for health professionals and I would love to learn more of that. Maybe we could bring that here!
Thank you so much for sharing this work in such a generous way. I’ll look forwards to more of what you offer.
    My love to you all.
